ZEISS Precision Vision in Kirkcaldy, Fife

Your eyes are unique — your lenses should be too

ZEISS i.Scription individual lenses, using advanced ZEISS i.Profiler Plus and VISUFIT 1000 technology.

Your prescription is only part of the story. Every eye has its own individual optical characteristics, and ZEISS i.Profiler Plus allows us to measure your vision with a level of precision that goes beyond a conventional spectacle prescription.

These detailed measurements can be incorporated into ZEISS i.Scription lenses, helping to optimise your vision for greater clarity, contrast and comfort — particularly in challenging light conditions and at night.

But precision doesn't stop with your eyes. ZEISS VISUFIT 1000 digitally measures how your chosen frame sits on your face, providing the individual fitting information needed to position your lenses precisely where you need them.

Together, i.Profiler Plus and VISUFIT 1000 allow us to combine detailed measurements of your vision with the precise position of your chosen frame — helping us create ZEISS lenses individually tailored to you.

ZEISS VISUFIT 1000

Precise measurement using 45 million points of reference

Beyond felt-tip pen measurements
Traditional spectacle fitting can involve marking the lenses with a felt-tip pen, which can introduce inaccuracies.
VISUFIT 1000 replaces this with precise digital measurement, helping us position your lenses accurately for your individual frame and how you wear it.

Precision fitting for your ZEISS lenses
Fitting highly personalised lenses has never been easier.
VISUFIT 1000 precisely measures how your chosen frame sits on your face, providing the detailed fitting information required to optimise ZEISS Individual lenses for you.

3D measurement in a single moment
Using nine calibrated cameras, VISUFIT 1000 captures a complete 180° view and measures important fitting parameters including pupil position, pantoscopic angle, frame curvature and back vertex distance.
These measurements are captured quickly and precisely while you're wearing your chosen frame, helping us optimise your lenses for you.

FAQ - How does our ZEISS precision vision journey work?

A little more about how we measure, refine and personalise your vision using advanced ZEISS technology at Cliff Williams in Kirkcaldy, Fife.

What does ZEISS i.Profiler Plus measure?

ZEISS i.Profiler Plus uses advanced wavefront technology to analyse the individual optical characteristics of your eyes. It captures around 1,500 measuring points in seconds and provides measurements down to 0.01 dioptres, revealing detail beyond a conventional spectacle prescription.

How are the i.Profiler Plus results used to refine my prescription?

The measurements from i.Profiler Plus provide a highly detailed starting point. We then use ZEISS VISUPHOR 500 and VISUSCREEN to refine your prescription with you, allowing us to determine the lens powers that give you the clearest and most comfortable vision.

What does ZEISS VISUFIT 1000 measure?

VISUFIT 1000 uses nine calibrated cameras to capture a 180° view and precisely measure how your chosen frame sits on your face. It records important fitting information such as pupil position, pantoscopic angle, frame curvature and back vertex distance, helping us position your lenses accurately.

What is the VISUFIT 1000 3D avatar used for?

VISUFIT 1000 creates a detailed 3D avatar of your face without your glasses. This allows different frames to be viewed and compared digitally and can also be used with AI-assisted style advice to explore frame shapes, colours and styles that may suit you.

Once you've chosen your eyewear, VISUFIT 1000 uses precise digital measurements to determine how the frame sits on your face. It can even measure prescription sunglasses with the lenses in place, helping us achieve accurate fitting measurements without removing the lenses.

How does all this technology improve my ZEISS lenses?

Each stage adds another layer of personalisation. i.Profiler Plus measures your eyes, VISUPHOR 500 and VISUSCREEN refine your prescription, and VISUFIT 1000 measures the precise position of your chosen frame. Together, this information helps us create ZEISS lenses individually tailored to your vision and the way you wear your eyewear.
